Beautiful Olive Orchard located at 6615 Elder St Garvanza CA 90042.

On Oct 12, 2007 Developer Garvanza Villa stated their intent to remove 6-7 Olive Trees  to construct a house atop the historic Olive Orchard. Garvanza Villa is a project consisting of construction of 16 single family homes on a 4 acre property within Historic Garvanza / Highland Park. It was the Hot Topic of Garvanza for many years.

As of 10/18/07 32 Olive tree trunks were counted at the site. Garvanza Villa the developers have dug trenches around trunks, chopped off many branches and several trunks, and added ammonium sulfite around exposed roots of 32 trunks.

According to the City decision letter from June 8, 2005 the Olive Tree Orchard is specified to be preserved identified in the Tree Report from 2004. The Tree report also states the Olive Orchard is to be preserved.
