Timeline:

4/28/06
Hillsides Home for Children , offered $30,000 annually for use of their hill as a cell tower site, signs a lease with Cingular.

6/7/06
Public Hearing. Hearing Officer, Paul Novak, from Pasadena Planning Dept. DENIED the tower proposal CUP4657, lining out every item on the request, citing commercial use in a residential area s a primary concern.

8/16/06
Planning Commision Appeals Hearing. Over 70 neighbors attend in opposition. Last minute CONTINUANCE requested by Cingular/ Moser / Hillsides and granted it. Subsequently over 100 neighbors send opposition letters to the various Officials.

9/12/06
HILLSIDES calls a meeting with neighbors to discuss their "Master Plan". Neighbors raise the tower issue. Mr. John Hitchcock of HILLSIDES admits, " I don't know much about cell towers".

10/18/06
Appeals hearing with Planning Commisioners at Permit Center lobby. Over 150 people attend and cramped inside a lobby for the hearing. After 3 hours of testimonies, Planning Commision APPROVES project.

10/27/06

Resident, Jessica and Carl Bronson file an Appeal and pays $1600.00 fee to City Clerk and is accepted.

11/2/06
Several residents meets with Pasadena Councilmember, Steve Madison to discuss the cell tower issue. Madison will be calling the case for review to DE NOVO the case in front of City Council.

11/6/06
City Council reviews the request and grants the Appeal. Bronson's receive their $1600 refund from City. 

1/20/07
City Council Hearing scheduled. Applicants, Cingular / Moser / Hillsides request Continuance and granted it. Postponed to March 2006.

2/10/07 
LA Councilmember Jose Huizar discusses and tours project site area with LA residents. He commits again to continuously support area residents to oppose the project.

2/27/07
Continuance requested yet again by Applicants, Cingular / Moser / Hillsides and postponed until May 21, 2007.

4/30/07

Pasadena City Council reviews a Cellphone facility case for Oak Knoll residential area and votes 7-0 to deny the proposal. Councilmembers agree that a new City wide plan for placement of wireless phone facilities is necessary.

5/14/07
Hearing date 5/21/07 continued and postponed and continued to 6/18/07. City did not notify residents regarding the postponement.

6/11/07

Moratorium first reading by City Counsel. Title:

AN INTERIM URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
PASADENA TEMPORARILY PROHIBITING THE ISSUANCE OF
PERMITS FOR THE PLACEMENT, CONSTRUCTION, AND
MODIFICATION OF GROUND-MOUNTED COMMERCIAL WIRELESS FACILITIES IN RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS
6/11/07:
         Few residents notified by City regarding another postponement for 6/18/07 hearing. 
6/18/07:
         City adopts a Moratorium for celltowers.

10/22/07: New hearing date for City Council to review our case. So far it has been postponed 5 times. 

9/25/07:   10/22/07 hearing postponed

10/22/07: New hearing date released: Feb 11, 2008. Moser letter released. 

2/5/08: Pasadena Mayor Boggaard to tour and visit site address concerns with neighbors.  postponed to  future date

2/11/08 City Council Hearing scheduled for review     Postponed again for 8th consecutive times

2/4/08: Group core members contest Continuance matter at City Council and Council states there will be no continuance given to Applicants from this point forward. Ci

2/27/08 : Resident receives copy of At&t withdrawl letter from City.ty Attorney  council 

5/5/08: FINAL City Council Hearing for our case. 7:30pm at City Council Chambers Pasadena, CA.
