  • Open Space  17acres of Chaparel habitat. Homes to many wild animals, protected trees, accessed by Public for its beautiful scenic view.  Project site is the Southwest corridor to City of Pasadena.
  • Extensive Wildlife...including California Fish and Game protectedSwainson's Hawk
  • Integrity of an Historic Hill...the only remaining undeveloped , substantial tract of the San Rafael Ranch. Grand Deed covenant perpetually restricts commercial usage at 17 acres Hillsides property.
  • Neighborhood Beauty / Peace...construction vehicles up very narrow Church St and dirt path to project site limits traffic flow/ access and damage protected tree and plant life
Protect...
  • Property Value...project is surrounded 100% by residential area. Closest multi million dollar residence to project facility less than 30ft. Commercial / industrial application is not appropriate.
  • Health and Environment...electromagnetic radiation poses health risks, including cancer and DNA damage, especially to young children ( studies have cause LAUSD to ban towers at all schools) HILLSIDES Church Home for Children, their own facility is less than 100ft away from project facility.
  • Against fire hazard...hill is posted as hazardous brush fire zone, designated by State and City. Battery vault for project filled with Sulfuric acid plus 900ft  of underground electrical lines are too risky. hazardsign.jpgNO sufficient access is available for Fire Dept to the project facility.
Prevent...
  • Domino Effect...if approved, it sets a precedent for other commercial developments, including more cell towers, to be added onto this currently pristine land
  • Landslides / Soil Erosion...Over 100 dump trucks of dirt will be excavated; this huge amount of soil excavation will compromise the integrity of the hill and make community homes more prone to landslides; also, the water table is under the proposed site.
